Discharging Ears
This may be as a result of:
A middle ear infection that has perforated the eardrum, and is discharging infected material.
A child who has grommets (ventilation tubes) That have become infected.
A chronic perforated eardrum that has become infected.
An infection of the outer ear (ear canal).
Or an infected mastoid cavity.
It is advisable to see you DOCTOR with all of the above or a Nurse Specialist Ear Clinic.
If you have a local children's Mobile Ear Clinic in your area, your Dr will refer you to the clinic for ear cleaning/treatment to help clear the infection and allow medication to get into the ear.
If your area has a public hospital Ear Nose and Throat Department, you may be referred in there for ear cleaning and treatment.
